Weather and wind is looking to be favorable for tomorrow night’s Wheel Fast ride.

First Wednesday of the month so it will be an (Sing it with me) Easy like a Sunday morning type of ride…

We will be chill and chatty for a 20 mile or so loop. Ride will leave the shop at 5:45.

30 for 30 Professional Sizing Special!

During the month of June we will be offering our bicycle Sizing service for $30 off. Normally $125 to $150 depending on the type of bike you ride.

A bike Sizing is a more affordable option compared to a true bike fit. A Sizing will help riders get setup on their bikes in a good, comfortable position.

During a sizing we check seat/sit-bone measurement, cleat position, saddle height and fore/aft position, and basic bar adjustments.

Please note, additional charges may apply for the installation of new parts such as handlebars, stems, aerobars, etc.

We will be hitting 3 sections of gravel tonight! Route will be about 26 miles.

Tomorrow night’s ride is scheduled to be a Whatever Wednesday ride. This means a traditional road bike will NOT be a good choice.

With winds expected to be out of the east I am trying to decide if we head west to hit some questionable roads and fight the wind coming back.

Or maybe just head east and pick some random roads and zig zag around.

Regardless, pace will be somewhat relaxed at about 16 MPH. Distance… 23-25ish miles. Departure time is 5:45!

ZOO-M LOOP!

Tomorrow night’s Wheel Fast ride will be heading out northeast towards the zoo on the super smooth and scenic lake roads.

This will be one of our faster rides for the month. Pace will be about 18 MPH heading out, and a little bit quicker back with the tailwind. Not driving the pace, just using the favorable wind to cruise back home.

Departure time will be 5:45 sharp!

I have been meaning to post the format we will use from week to week, month-to-month for this year. Please check back for a comment I will add to this post.

Hello All!

I’ve gotten some questions about this year’s Monster Metric. A date has been discussed. That being said, Wheel Fast as a business is really, really, really busy. The closure of BikeTek has definitely been a positive for us, and is keeping the main crew very busy selling, building, and repairing anything with 2 wheels (sometimes more).

This year may have to be a pivot year for the Monster Metric. Rather than a formal planned ride we may look at just setting a date for a large group ride on an upcoming Sunday. Think V-Park ride, but starting in Chatham.

Stay tuned as we try to figure something out. And thank you for your patronage and patience from the entire crew at central Illinois’ #1 bike shop!!!

As of right now tomorrow night’s Wheel Fast ride is on. We will keep an eye on wind conditions and if a decision to cancel is made we will do it by 4 PM.

Pace heading out will most likely be about 14-16 MPH, with a loop of about 22 miles. Pace heading back will probably be 20 MPH or slightly quicker. We will not intentionally push the pace, but we will take what the tailwind gives us.

Departure time will be 5:45 PM!

First Wednesday of the month so this weeks Wheel Fast ride will be a relaxed pace of 14-16 MPH. Distance of about 20 miles. Ride will leave the shop at 5:45 PM!
