Signs of Spring are starting to pop. The squid are steadily propeling themselves closer to our shores, the plovers are touching down in the tidal flats, and our co-op crew is launching our Spring Fish Share Member drive!

We’ve been listening closely to our 600+ Fish Share Members and we’re excited to announce a few new commitments & membership perks this Spring.

As MA’s only fishermen co-op, we’ll continue delivering seafood that you can trust is healthy for you, the community, and our planet. More specifically, here are three commitments based on member feedback to make your Spring really pop:

FRESHCATCH ALERTS. Nothing beats getting fresh fish off-the-boat. That’s why we’re launching our new FreshCatch Alerts. Exclusive to Fish Share members, you can now get FreshCatch Alerts where we text you a couple of times per month after landing fish directly off our boats. Learn more on our Fish Share page.

VARIETY. This Spring we expect to catch 20+ different seasonal and abundant species, some of your favorites like scallops and haddock. Plus some new fish like Tilefish and John Dory. See the full list by visiting our Fish Share page.

RECIPES. Ready to continue elevating your home-cooked meals with the Cape’s highest quality seafood? We got you. With more recipes, demos, and videos, we are ready to make your local seafood more easy and exciting.

By becoming a member, you'll gain access to premium seafood that directly supports local fishermen and comes with a story you can feel good about. The buy-down program is simple and works in four easy steps:
Step 1: Pay in advance to secure your share of the catch for the season.
Step 2: The cooperative's fishermen set out to sea, knowing your membership helps cover upfront costs and ensures fair pricing for the boats.
Step 3: Browse their website to choose from a selection of fresh local seafood, plus in-house cooked and specialty items you won’t find anywhere else.
Step 4: Order the products and quantities you want, as often as you like. Pick up your Chatham Harvesters seafood at any of their convenient locations, based on your preferences at sign-up. You can order weekly or at a frequency that works for you.

Our friend Tracy at The Fisherman's Pantry in Falmouth is delivering her Alaskan wild caught salmon and other goodies tomorrow to Cape Cod homes. Chatham Harvesters Sea Scallops are back!
Chatham Harvesters is working on a new winter program will be assisting Captain Jared of the fishing vessel whitecap with running his own dockside pick up a fresh sea scallops.

Captain Jared is eyeing a weather window suitable for fishing early next week.

If you would like pre-order scallops here is the link.
