DarlingxDashing is NOT a thrift store! And since it’s Back To School season, here’s a little Secondhand 101 ✏️🍎
At a thrift store, DONATED goods are sold at low prices, and the organization keep the profit from sales. At a consignment shop, consignors sell their items, and split the profit with the store.
We do not take donations! Our inventory team processes around 50 consignment appointments every week to carefully curate clothing, shoes, and accessories that are in-style, in-season, and in great condition.
When you go thrifting, it’s up to you to search through everything for secondhand treasures. At a consignment shop (or vintage store!), every piece has been curated for you. Pieces are clean, seasonal, trendy, and in great condition. No digging needed!
At a thrift store, donated goods are priced based on category. At a consignment shop, products are carefully researched and priced based on their original value and current condition.
We price items between 40-60% of the original value. You’ll find lots of pieces on our racks that have never been worn, or even have tags still attached! Designer and luxury items (or rare vintage finds) will be priced higher than mass-market pieces.
At a thrift store, your purchase supports the thrift organization’s mission or charitable beneficiary. At a consignment shop, your purchase supports a small business AND individual consignors in your community!
We also carry products from 80+ artisan consignors, in addition to secondhand consignment. Our artisan products range from upcycled clothing, to accessories, homewares, bath and beauty products, art, stickers, jewelry, and more.
So even though shopping with us isn’t “thrifting,” it’s still great for your wallet, your style, your community, and your ENVIRONMENT! ♻️🌎
Shopping secondhand help keeps clothing out of landfills. Shopping small stimulates the local economy, supports your neighbors, and helps your community thrive!✨
