Strong VG+. Original May 22, 1966, 1st pressing—never to be reissued again, thanks God. The cover is pretty decent: there is some discoloration and patina on both sides, and the corners are a bit scuffed, but overall, it still looks quite nice. As for the inside—black, of course—it definitely still plays pretty well. There is some background noise and surface scuffs, but no skipping; however, likely due to its age, there are a few grooves that occasionally loop, as if it were repeating itself. So, all in all, it’s a lovely item, pre-owned copy that has changed hands several times, yet was treated with care and love by its previous owners. A big thank you to them. It’s an item that isn’t always easy—a bit controversial, a bit too different. Some people like it; others don’t care for it at all. But deep down, it doesn’t ask for much more; and in any case, it’s moved past that stage—it doesn’t really give a damn anymore. It’s vintage! Not for sale... though, you know how it is—business is business—so I’m always open to offers. DM us! (Just kidding—you’d be better off just sending him some money instead.) Anyway, Happy Birthday to Arthur Russell; he would have turned 75 yesterday. *Love Is Overtaking* is being reissued today.
The air is sweet and steady
And flowers bloom out of sight
I know the sky is ready
Come meet me down here tonight
Will the corn be growing a little tonight
As I wait in the fields for you
Who knows what grows in the morning light
As we can feel the watery dew
