✨ Last night I had the privilege of attending I Am Your Neighbor, a beautiful evening in support of Refugee Support Services of Charlotte. .to.rss The love and generosity in the room — alongside the stories shared — reminded me that the profound power of community, compassion, and belonging will always prevail.💙💛

Charlotte is home to so many resilient people who have fled war, violence, or extreme poverty to cross oceans and borders and build a new life, and it was inspiring to see neighbors come together to welcome and uplift them.

Let’s continue to stand beside our refugee and immigrant neighbors — because when one of us thrives, we all thrive. 🌍💫

Back to where it all started: Santorini. As some of you know, I lived here for a season in 1995. Before that, jewelry making was just a hobby. Then I got my first professional gig working for dear Angelo (who taught me a lot of the techniques I still use today) at The Bead Shop in Fira. Ten years after that - 2005 - I quit my marketing and business development career and took the plunge with Angela Arno Jewelry. My first collection, that I debuted in at The Accessories Show in NYC and scored me a coveted “designer on the rise” spot, was aptly named “Santorini”. From there, things really took off and I had myself a small, successful business! Since COVID, and a move back to Europe, I’ve been on a hiatus from jewelry (except for some bespoke pieces here and there for good clients). But being back where it all started has reenergized and inspired me once again! So once my hectic summer travel schedule is over, expect some new work. Designs are already dancing in my head!

I had a wonderful time collaborating on a very last minute “pop-up” for a few ladies this afternoon. After all the isolation of bizarro-world , it was wonderful to connect with the super-talented Lon from ❤️ and our guests over some bubbly and laughs! 🍾 I am delighted to now have some of her original, spirit-lifting multi-media work! 😍😍😍
