There's a lot of confusion out there about the difference between an organizer and a housekeeper, and between a personal concierge service and a personal assistant.
An organizer differs from a housekeeper in that an organizer is concerned with clearing away clutter and creating structure in your home or office, not with daily maintenance. Typically an organizer would come in once, for a few hours to a couple of days, to help you clear away the excess and work out storage solutions for the rest. We don't care if your baseboards are ever scrubbed, because cleaning and organizing are two very different skill sets.

There's a good bit of overlap between a personal concierge and a personal assistant, but the biggest difference is the client load. If you want someone full time who is focused solely on your needs, with no other clients, who can travel with you and be available at any time, you need a personal assistant. The advantage to a personal concierge service is that you don't have to keep someone on staff. Because we work with multiple clients, you can book just the services you need, without having to worry about payroll, taxes, or benefits. Where an assistant is legally classified as an employee, booking a personal concierge is as easy as booking a hair appointment.

Important announcement:

As we are in the middle of changing hosting platforms, our web presence is going to be spotty over the next few days. Unfortunately, that also includes email AND the business phone number, as the company has an all-in-one package from a company that has not performed well. If you need immediate help, you can message here or use the backup email, [email protected]. Thank you for your patience!

tip: if you're like most people, you struggle to remember to bring your reusable bags with you to the grocery store. Then you end up with a ton of plastic bags that you use once, *maybe* twice if the litterbox needs cleaning (side note: is flushable!), and they end up taking up space in your home, or in a landfill.
The trick: change where you store your reusable bags. If you're storing them in the kitchen like I used to, you'll forget them. Instead, after you take the groceries in, return the bags to the trunk of your car. That way you can make your grocery run on the way home without worrying about taking home even more plastic.

The bags pictured are under a dollar each, and I have some that I have been using for over a year. I love them!

If there were only one message I could get out about my work, it would be that hiring an assistant or organizer doesn't mean you are failing or out of control. Virtually everyone can benefit at some level, whether you need someone to pick up your cat's prescription food before the vet closes, to clean out your closet, or to organize the entire house. Give me a call, and see how much simpler your life can be.

Pro tip: if you wear makeup, you probably keep it way longer than you should. To help keep track of when you should toss, keep a sheet of stick-on labels in your makeup bag or case. When you open a new product, label it with the date to throw it out: 3 months from the date of opening for mascara or liquid eyeliner, 2 months for eyebrow or eyeliner gel, 6-12 months for pencil products, a year for most other products. Getting rid of products on schedule keeps your makeup routine sanitary and helps to control "stashing" behaviors.
