Over the last couple weeks, through TV news, newspaper articles, and someone that recently toured the new Cancer Center, I have found out they have added a boutique like mine to their facility. I specifically went and had a conversation with the director of the foundation as to the services that would be provided at the new center so there would not be any conflict of services. I was reassured that there were to be no services, other than the current wig shop, that would be a part of the new facility. So I locate my business 2 blocks away to be convenient to the cancer patients. Needless to say, I guess they felt my business was a good idea too.

So, what does that mean for me? It forces me to close because I will not be able to compete. With this being such a specialty business, and them in such close proximity, there is no way for me to continue.
I know they don't open until the spring, but seeing BB as dead in the water, I'm choosing to not waste any more money on this venture. I will go back to nursing and try to recoup some of the money I have lost and possibly open again in another area.

The shop is closed until I figure out how to sell off everything and what all I need to do to get this all taken care of so that I can move on.
Once I have determined my options, I'll let you know. If you have anything you need to pick up from me...please call me at 304-925-8808 to make arrangements.

Concerned about what your daily life will look like during chemotherapy treatments? Dr. David Margileth says fatigue is the biggest variable. This can occur throughout the entire treatment, or only around the days of treatments. Some women experience no fatigue at all. Regardless, he encourages people going through chemo to continue to stay active.

As part if our participation in Breast Cancer Awareness for October...stop in and register to win a specially handcrafted lap quilt! These quilts are designed with alternating plain blocks so that friends and family can write words of encouragement for the breast cancer patient. There have a soft, warm side so the patient can wrap up during treatments... Or just when they need the strength of those that love them. Once treatment is completed, the quilt can be a wall hanging, a way to remember all those that went along on the journey to survivorship!
The quilt is valued at $125.
