Black Rifle Coffee called Ben in Sales last week and invited him to ride up to join Travis Pastrana and Ricky Carmichael jumping at the White House 250 event performing flips for the 250 Birthday of our Country. Ben chose the 2026 Beta 390 RS for the Dual Sport ability to ride up there, do the jump and ride home. It all ended in the dream when Ben's wife said "No", and he woke up... Nitro Circus

Ted Simon’s Jupiter’s Travels.
In 1973, Simon set off on a four-year, 64,000-mile journey around the world aboard a 500cc Triumph Tiger 100. His book became a masterpiece of travel writing, perfectly capturing how a thumping British engine binds a rider to the machine and the open world.
"The bike was a model for the idea I was striving towards. Only a continual desire to improve its performance would keep it going to the end... But it was nothing, a paper seal slipped in assembly, easily put right. You could stop the oil if you took the trouble. That was what British bikes liked. They thrived on attention, like certain people, and repaid you for it. Not a bad relationship to have."
The Sensuous Reality of the Road
Simon beautifully articulated how the Triumph stripped away the insulating armor of modern life, forcing him to experience the world with total, visceral immediacy:
"It is no trick to go around the world these days... but to know it, to smell it and feel it between your toes you have to crawl. There is no other way. Not flying, not floating. You have to stay on the ground and swallow the bugs as you go."

A Literary Alternative: The "Moto-Grace" of T.E. Lawrence
If you are looking for a more abstract, thundering depiction of speed from a giant of British literature, T.E. Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia) wrote exquisitely about the transcendence of motorcycling in his 1935 work, The Mint.

"A skittish motor-bike with a touch of blood in it is better than all the riding animals on earth, because of its logical extension of our faculties, and the hint, the provocation, to excess conferred by its honeyed untiring smoothness."

Both authors touch on the same core truth: riding a classic British machine isn't about getting from point A to point B cleanly; it's an intense, demanding collaboration between man, metal, and the element of risk.
