It is move in day at Drake University, and I'll be in Des Moines all day getting my oldest settled into her sophomore year. 💙🤍

Normal business hours will resume Saturday, August 22nd. 📚

I am moving my oldest daughter to college on Friday and the bookshop will be closed just for one day, 8/21/26.

Regular hours still on Thursday, 8/20, and Saturday, 8/22.

Did anyone hear Mary Roach on NPR's show, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me ?

It made me immediately pick up this book and read it. Its amazing how parts of the human body can be transferred and used in ways that were not their original intent.

She talks to amputees, transplant patients, and scientists about remarkable advances in medical technology.

This book will check off your Book Bingo category of "learning something new."

Many mornings I find books on the floor when I open the bookshop. Always in the same area. Always a different book.

I LOVE making up stories about what's happening in the bookshop at night.
