To everyone saying “it’s fine”, “kids put everything on their faces” or “it’s finger paint so it must be safe for faces”:That completely misses the point. Craft paint, poster paint and finger paint like this are not cosmetics. They are not manufactured and labelled for use as face paint. Proper face paints are cosmetic products specifically intended for application to human skin. A child accidentally putting something on their face is very different from an adult deliberately applying an unsuitable product to somebody else’s child and earning a profit.
“It’ll probably be fine” is not an acceptable safety standard.
And if someone thinks using poster paint on children’s faces is an acceptable standard, it does rather raise the question: what other basic face-painting safety and hygiene standards are they ignoring? 😳
