A Browning Citori Golden Trap in 12 gauge. This shotgun was sent to me for the suspicion of needing a new locking bolt needing to be fitted..The customer stated that the gun was starting to open upon firing and that the top lever spring was replaced and it still was opening.

When I received the shotgun I tested it for lockup and sure enough it definitely was a worn locking bolt. The customer also opted for me to clean the shotgun while it was in the shop. A new locking bolt was fitted and installed. The shotgun was test fired for function, reliability, and to test the secure lockup of barrels to the receiver.

A very nice Japanese made Weatherby Orion in for cleaning and service. The shotgun was completely disassembled and cleaned. Then the firing pins and their springs were replaced. The shotgun also had the rest of its springs replaced. The test firing was completed for function and reliability.

I must apologize about not posting in awhile, but I’ve been battling ongoing back issues. I’m finally back in the shop pretty much full time now, so work is getting done.

Here is a very nice Perazzi MX 2005 trap in 12 gauge. The shotgun came in with the complaint of not firing on the bottom barrel. The customer just inherited this and is an avid Trap and Perazzi shooter. While it was here he had me clean and do a partial rebuild on it. The shotgun also has release triggers and I serviced them as well.

The culprit turns out to be a very worn bottom barrel firing pin. The replacement parts I use are Giuliani after market parts, because I believe they are superior to factory parts. Most of the springs were replaced as well and the leaf style hammer springs were replaced with their universal springs. I’m a stickler on fit and finish and was not happy with the trigger break on the double releases, so I addressed that issue as well.

The gunsmith is back in the shop working and going slow, but hopefully at full speed in a couple of weeks.

The shop will be by appointment only through the rest of the week due to me healing from ongoing back issues. I’m still working on shotguns, but at a limited pace due to my pain levels.

Hopefully soon I will be back to my old self and my normal pace of work. Thank you all for your understanding while I work through this minor bump in the road.
