Jim fished with me today and we had to work at it , cover a lot of water, and stay totally focused, also he threw down a challenge about a two man limit lol which we did finally manage!!! He said he hadn’t done a lot of longpoling/ scoping but I’m not sure whether to believe that because he sure had it down right from the start. Had a blast fishing with him today and it was nice to beat those crappie on Carlyle lol!! Quit Wishin & Come Fishin!!

We have all seen the guys who pull up to the ramp get out then start getting their boat ready. Please stop doing this!! Park in the lot, prep your boat then when you’re ready to launch pull up to the ramp and do your business!! It’s very disrespectful to tie the ramp up while your loading gear, coolers, and unstrapping your boat. Also when you get it off the trailer go park your rig it takes way longer leading it down the dock or driving it to park while your rig is sitting on the ramp. Be efficient, Be courteous, Leave things better than you find them, and help someone whenever you get the chance. Quit Wishin & Come Fishin!!

It was an unbelievable bite today absolutely insane numbers and some definite quality as well. I haven’t seen a bite like this in a good while. I normally won’t do more than a few trips a week but I’m making an exception for a bite like this. Remember fish bite on their schedule not ours, so if you’ve been thinking about a trip and want it to be highly successful I have a couple of days available next week. Quit Wishin & Come Fishin!!

This isn’t for everyone and if your more concerned with that little bit of meat you gain by going around the ribs then that is what you should do, if your time is more valuable to you this is a great way to save a little time. It’s just an alternative. I don’t beat anyone down for doing things differently than I do…. Even when they are wrong lol. Quit Wishin & Come Fishin!!!

Carlyle can get rough in a hurry. You have to respect it and be aware of weather conditions and always have a plan to get off the lake if necessary. It’s not worth the risk. Also due to severe weather forecast I will not be at the habitat group meeting this evening hope to see everyone at the next one. Quit Wishin & Come Fishin!!

Had a limit by 930 but it was not easy I got lucky and found two good piles and caught 10 of my fish really fast the others took from 530 to 11. All of the fish were from 11 to 14 inches and made a nice mess! I used a smoky shad shad pole by strike king lures. I was using a BnM blue diamond 14 foot rod with 10 pound Berkeley trilene line. Also I used a 1/8 ounce tungsten head. The lake got really rough so I hugged the south shore to fish and run I put in at dam west to allow for the rough conditions. Quit Wishin & Come Fishin!!

Jerry and Michelle fished with me today and they put on a clinic with precision casting. Michelle was dropping her casts with pinpoint accuracy time after time…… she said she got lucky but then she’d “ GET LUCKY “ 47 more casts in a row lol, and Jerry was dropping his casts in just as good from the back of the boat. She said she had never caught a redear and she checked that box with some real quality fish. I’m on some amazing bites at a few different lakes right now if you’ve been thinking about a trip now’s the time I do a very limited number of trips and when the heat kicks in I’ll be scaling back again.
