Itâs been a few weeks since Iâve done a Christenâs Closet. Life got busy, other things needed my attention, and before I knew it, something I really enjoy doing kept getting pushed to next week.
Funny how easily that happens, isnât it?
We tell ourselves weâll start when we have more time.
Weâll do it when things slow down.
Weâll wear that outfit when we have somewhere special to go.
Weâll use the good dishes when company comes.
Weâll take the trip when the timing is better.
Weâll start that thing weâve been thinking about when we finally feel ready.
But what if "ready never really comes?"
I think sometimes we spend so much time waiting for the right moment that we forget weâre already living in it.
So wear the good jeans.
Put on the jewelry youâve been saving.
Burn the candle.
Use the pretty dishes.
Take the picture - even if you donât love everything you see in the mirror.
Start the thing you keep putting off.
Say yes once in a while just because it sounds fun.
And quit waiting for a special occasion to enjoy the things you love.
Maybe today IS the special occasion.
I certainly donât have everything figured out, and there are plenty of things I keep saying Iâm going to get to âsomeday.â But Iâm realizing more and more that I donât want to save all the good stuff for someday.
The good clothes. The good memories. The good ideas. The good times.
Life is happening right now!!
So if thereâs something youâve been putting off because you donât have the time, the confidence, the perfect circumstance - or you simply donât feel readyâŚ
Maybe this is your reminder.
