After many months of my friends and I traveling an hour to buy all natural fresh ground peanut butter, I thought to myself...Why doesn't anyone in the Cedar Rapids area sell fresh ground nut butters? Healthy lifestyle choices includes healthy eating. I, myself, had been trying to be better about "clean" eating and had just finished my first ever cleanse. Unlike most other cleanses, I didn't starve

myself or restrict my diet to liquids. I committed myself to clean eating by eating ONLY fruits and vegetable for 5 days. During those 5 days protein was important. I ate my spinach and made it through, but after the initial 5 days I started adding in other healthy sources of protein, including peanut and almond butter. Consuming fresh ground nut butters provided a healthier option than the conventional brands like Skippy and Jiff. Even the "all natural" butter in your local supermarket contain added palm oil and evaporated cane juice (aka-sugar) for added flavor. The product I was eating was nothing but good ole nuts. Using an industrial grinder allows the nuts to mix with their own oils to provide finer particles and a smoother texture. So my idea was born. Instead of wondering why someone in our area didn't provide a product like this, I decided to become the provider!! I applied to our local Farmer's Markets and obtained all the necessary licensing to package and sell fresh ground nut butters. The rest, shall we say, is history in the making!
