27 years! I've been on eBay since 1999. Fairly early adopter. I remember when you could put just about anything on with a starting bid of 99 cents and it would reach the price that it would actually be worth. The Wild West days of eBay. Went to two eBay Live conventions: 2004 in New Orleans and 2005 in Las Vegas (without knowing I was going to be moving there a few months later). I will always remember the kindness of eBay and Meg Whitman when I received $1000 out of the blue, after Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast, to help affected area eBay sellers to recover.
This week I finally hit a milestone! 10000 positive ratings!!! With my own Yellow Shooting Star! Naysayers can "nay", but I am appreciative of what eBay has done for my business and life. Nail-biting as last minute bids pile on an item that I'm selling. But with never any doubt that that was the way it was going to end. After all these years, I've gotten pretty good at reading the room.
Thanks for the memories! And here's to a few more years of selling "treasures" in the eBay marketplace! See you in the bidding winners' circle!
