A quick heads up... I just added some more niobium "oops" rings here:

and quite a few of them are from my latest experiments in trying to push the color range into higher voltages. I'm not yet getting results that I like consistently enough to add these 100+ volt colors to my standard lineup, but you can snag some of the experimental batches if you want a sneak peek of the higher color range. ;)

Introducing: phone-friendly jump ring shopping! I've just added a batch of "new" products to the site. They're actually the same jump rings, just organized differently. I hope this new way of browsing rings is easier for shopping on phones - I would love to hear any feedback!

May I just say that I'm utterly blown away by y'all? That whole name-the-niobium conversation was so much more fun (and productive!) that I imagined it would be. Thank you, thank you, thank you all.

I'm just about to print up the list of names (scroll to the bottom of this post to make sure I got your name) for tomorrow's drawing and I got to thinking... Yes, one lucky winner will get a 50-ring niobium-ombre-helpful-caterpillar, but what about the other thirty people who chimed in and made the conversation so much fun? So here's what I'm going to do:
I'll keep the collection of non-winning names through the end of the year. When you place your next order at any time in 2023, just remind me that you're one of the names in the "hat" and I'll add one of the 20-ring niombre-colorstax (size 8:20nb) in your choice of color range.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what people make with these!

Door prize time! And this one comes with a request for all the "words people" in my chainmail family.

I'm ready to add these pre-sorted batches of niobium rings to the site (yay!) but I'm drawing a complete blank for what I should call them (boo!) My working name has been "fade savers" but it kinda sounds like something you'd add to a load of laundry, rather than a scrumptious color range of niobium ombre. *laugh*

The prize: one of the medium (50 rings) fade-savers-or-whatever-they-end-up-getting-called in your choice of True Blue, Water, Fire, Firewater, or Peacock in size 8:20nb. If you'd like your name to be entered, just say so in the comments.

The request: suggest better names for this product! I'll add your name to the drawing more than once if you share name ideas. Brainstorm time!

Hurray! The refill for low/out C19 rubber ring colors arrived today. I’ll spend some quality time with my website tomorrow to get all the out-of-stock notices cleared up. I will also be raising the prices on all sizes of rubber rings (just a bit) so if you want to stock up do it today. 😎

Hah! How fun!!
A large aspect ratio ring (size 20M16jb), a sideways yank, and a bit of hammering. I think it needs a matching buddy and some earwires. And now my brain is spinning with ways that I could bling it up… 😍

This is what happens when I’m supposed to be working on details of a website upgrade.

And... Latest news... I've launched a second Etsy presence for my finished items. Right now it's dominated by kit-sample pieces (the same ones that appear in photographs on spiderchain.com) but over time I'm hoping it will evolve to be a landing space for the fifty-bazillion cool Maker Ideas that constantly tippy-tap on my mind. *chuckle*

Good/Bad news for rubber rings:

Good: I'm refilling the out-of-stock colors for size C19.
Bad: My cost has gone up quite a bit, so I'll be crunching some numbers once the new inventory arrives and C19 prices (for all colors) will go up.

So if you want any tiny stretchy rings, do it now before the price bump! :)
