One of the parts of alpaca farming I’m not in love with is saying goodbye.

Today, we took Penny—our very first cria born right here on our farm—to her new home at . While it’s bittersweet to watch her leave, we couldn’t be happier with where she’s headed.

Three years ago, we attended our very first Alpaca 101 class at Carolina Sunshine. Today, we delivered one of our own alpacas there. I’d say that’s a pretty full-circle moment.

Penny has been such a special part of our journey from the very beginning, and we’re so excited to see all the amazing things she’ll accomplish in her new herd. Wishing her and her new family many years of success together. ❤️🦙

After 368 long days, our girl Trinity finally welcomed her baby into the world 💕

At 4:10pm, Double 8 Trinity Black gave birth to an 18.2 lb baby girl, sired by Goldyn Rae Mystic’s Mykonos. What started as a terrifying delivery — with Trinity bleeding and no baby appearing — had us completely panicked.

But thanks to the incredible alpaca community, especially Brenda , Pam , and Patty we made it through. Patty stayed with us step by step, talking us through exactly what to do, and we truly cannot thank them enough.

Watching this first-time mama care for her cria now is such a relief and such a beautiful moment after a very scary start. ❤️

Tonight we’re extra thankful — for healthy babies, strong mamas, and a community that always shows up when it matters most.

Trinity is officially 365 days pregnant… and she is milking every second of it. 😅🦙

At this point she deserves her own parking spot, unlimited snacks, and a personal fan club. We are all patiently waiting on cria watch at Hardly Farm! 💕
