A behind-the-scenes look of our tree lighting installation in Downtown Casper

This project is something that we’ve been dreaming up for a long time now, and it is so rewarding to stand on the sidewalk of 2nd St. and watch Tough Guys Landscaping make our brightest dreams come true - alongside The City of Casper 👏🏼

As a reminder, to safely accommodate equipment and crews, 2nd Street will be temporarily closed from 6am to 6pm today and tomorrow:

Wednesday, June 3: Wolcott St to Center St
Thursday, June 4: Center St to David St

Sidewalk access and North-South intersections at 2nd Street will remain open whenever possible, and downtown businesses will continue operating throughout the project. Parking is available in the Public Parking Garage!

Attn. Casper: tree lighting & temporary road closures coming to Downtown Casper this week!

We’re excited to announce the upcoming installation of decorative tree lighting along 2nd Street this June, bringing a new layer of warmth, vibrancy, and year-round energy to one of downtown Casper’s primary corridors!

Designed to enhance the downtown experience in every season, this project reflects our ongoing investment in creating a brighter, more welcoming district for businesses, residents, and visitors alike.

✨ Temporary Street Closures

To safely accommodate equipment and crews, portions of 2nd Street will be temporarily closed from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM during installation:

• June 2: Durbin Street to Wolcott Street
• June 3: Wolcott Street to Center Street
• June 4: Center Street to David Street

North-south intersections will remain open, sidewalks will remain accessible, and downtown businesses will continue operating throughout the project. Parking is available in the Public Parking Garage.

SECOND ST TREE LIGHTING PROJECT POSTPONED:
The Casper Downtown Development Authority would like to inform the community that the scheduled downtown lighting installation project has been postponed due to an unexpected manufacturing and shipping delay involving specialized lighting materials. Due to the volume and scale of the project, the manufacturer has experienced production backlogs that affected the delivery timeline. Final notification of the delay was unfortunately received just prior to the scheduled start of installation.

We appreciate the patience, flexibility, and understanding of downtown businesses, residents, and the community during this process. We also want to thank our project partners and crews from Tough Guys Landscaping & Lighting and the City of Casper for their continued coordination and professionalism.

Updated scheduling information will be shared once the revised installation timeline is confirmed. We remain excited to bring this enhancement to downtown Casper and look forward to delivering a project the community can enjoy for years to come.

We are excited to announce the upcoming installation of decorative tree lighting along 2nd Street this month, bringing a new layer of warmth, vibrancy, and year-round energy to one of downtown’s primary corridors!

🚧 To accommodate the installation, portions of 2nd Street will be temporarily closed May 26 through May 29, 2026.

Affected blocks will be closed to vehicle traffic during those dates.
Sidewalk access will remain open whenever possible, and downtown businesses will continue operating throughout the project. Parking remains available in the Public Parking Garage.
