I (Ashley Hagen) am super excited to be part of this Spring’s Meet the Makers Event! & I thought it might be the perfect time to share a little more about myself, AshRoad Inspirations, and how this journey has evolved as we step into year FIVE of our Carroll Design & Salvage adventure. 🤩
What began as a huge step of faith for my family and our incredible CDAS team has grown through every high and low. We’ve learned that when you stick together, support one another, and keep showing up day after day, beautiful things can happen. I am endlessly grateful for the people who have supported us — those working behind the scenes and those cheering us on from the front.
Over the years, we’ve expanded not just in the number of amazing local vendors and small businesses represented in our store, but in the quality and variety of what we offer. I truly believe we’ve helped shape Carroll Design & Salvage into a thriving space known for unique, one-of-a-kind finds — from antique and vintage treasures to handcrafted and new pieces. Gifts, home décor, everyday staples… truly something for anyone of any age.
I’ve always felt like an old soul (my boys would just say I’m old 😆). I’ve been drawn to pieces with stories for as long as I can remember. Our home is filled with bits from grandparents and favorite collected finds — many discovered right inside CDAS. There’s just something special about surrounding yourself with pieces that mean something.
One of the milestones I’m especially proud of was introducing the AshRoad Refillery in the summer of 2024. It felt like a natural extension of what inspires me — taking small, meaningful steps toward living a little cleaner and more intentionally.
And then there’s crafting…
If I’m honest, creativity in my head is beautifully chaotic! I jump from project to project, always (ALWAYS) 🤪 wanting to try something new (which I’m sure keeps my husband on his toes — though he never shows it 💕). Right now, I’m having so much fun working with vintage teacups and china plates.
So for the Meet the Makers Event, that’s exactly what I’ll be showcasing from 10a–12p!
If you have a teacup and saucer — or up to three different-sized china plates — that you’d love to transform into a sweet tiered jewelry holder, bring them along and I’d love to help you create one!
• Cost will vary depending on hardware used
• Customers assume all risk if bringing personal items (I’m not responsible for breakage during the crafting process)
Don’t have pieces to bring? I’ll have a selection available while supplies last.
Spring truly is about new beginnings — and I can’t wait to create something meaningful with you. 💛 Thanks for sticking with me through this LONG post & since March of 2021 (& before!!!!) We’re ALL so grateful for YOU!!!
