It's time to grab this amazing deal on mulch! Your new and established plantings will all benefit from a fresh layer of Daddy Pete’s Mulch before we get to the hottest days of Summer. Mulch improves water retention, insulates the root zone and suppresses weeds. Simply add a 3-4” layer around your plants, being sure to pull it a couple of inches away from any trunks or stems…that’s it!

Unfortunately, you aren’t the only one interested in your organic garden and other plantings this time of the year. The good news is that there are organic solutions available that are highly effective in managing threats

Great pest mitigation options include:
🐞Orcon Live Ladybugs make a meal of aphids, mealybugs, scale and other pests!
Monterey RTU Neem Oil is effective against many common insects and serves double duty as a fungicide too!
🐛Monterey Organic BT Insecticide targets caterpillars and is harmless to humans and other insects
🌎Diatomaceous Earth is effective against insects with hard shells and can either be sprinkled on soil and foliage or mixed with water as a spray

Remember, the best pest mitigation strategy is to regularly check in on your garden and plantings. Be sure to look under leaves too as many insects are experts at hiding either themselves or their eggs there. Once a threat is identified, proper treatment will set you on the right track. Be sure to stop by and ask for suggestions if you’re unsure how to best treat a threat in your garden!
