July 4, 1776. Thirteen colonies became one nation. One flag flew first.

It had 13 stars in a circle and 13 stripes for the original colonies. Handmade in Philadelphia, it flew over a country one day old.

Now, 250 years later, we've still got that same design. Stars are embroidered, stripes are sewn. Made in the USA, like Betsy made hers.

If you fly the American flag today, display it at half-staff from sunrise until noon, then raise it to full-staff for the remainder of the day.

At 3:00 PM local time, pause for the National Moment of Remembrance.
