Today is not Veterans Day. Today, we do not salute those who served and came home. Today, we bow our heads for those who served and gave everything.
​Memorial Day is a day of profound, heavy gratitude. As a woman-owned business built on a lineage of military service, this day sits heavy on our hearts. We think of the empty chairs at dinner tables, the stories that were cut short, and the families who carry the weight of that sacrifice every single day. The flag we sell and the accessories we provide are not just products to us; they are the custody of a promise that we will never forget the price of our freedom.
​Today, at 3:00 PM local time, the National Moment of Remembrance takes place. Wherever you are, whatever you are doing, we invite you to pause for just one minute of silence to honor the fallen.
​We want to turn our comment section into a wall of honor today. As the long weekend begins and families across the country gather for barbecues, beach trips, and time together, we want to pause and center ourselves on why we are here. For the military community and the families left behind, this weekend isn't just a holiday; it’s a sacred time of remembrance.

​Growing up in a family with Veteran family members, I learned early on that the freedom to enjoy weekends like this was bought and paid for by people who never made it back to their own families. At Flags For Veterans, we believe that flying our colors this weekend is an act of deep gratitude. It’s a silent 'thank you' to the brave men and women who gave their text-book definition of tomorrow so we could have our today.

​If you are flying your flag this weekend, remember the tradition: it should be flown at half-staff from sunrise until noon, and then raised to full-staff for the remainder of the day.
