JUST ANNOUNCED!! A meet and greet at the shop with horror writer šŸ’€

Keith will be in town for Stokercon (something else you may want to look into…) and graciously agreed to stop by our shop just before heading back home. He was also nice enough to join one of our book clubs () by video recently to discuss his latest release, Coffin Moon.

Back to the event: We will have full stock on all of his books, including a few of his older ones that we haven’t gotten in before! Come grab a new one, complete your set, and get everything signed in one fell swoop.

He is a super down-to-earth guy who has been supportive of everything we do here since we first crossed paths on the socials, and I would love to be able to return the favor with a BUMPIN’ event at our bookstore. Hope to see ya soon!

Would you be mine? Could you be mine? 🧔

Save the date for our next book fair at ! We are leaning all the way into those ā€œsummer of loveā€ vibes with a talented group of sweet and spicy local romance authors.

This time around, we’ll be spreading out onto the patio, so it should be much easier for everyone to browse and enjoy the ambiance! We’ll also have food, entertainment, local maker tables, and cold drinks on tap.

Stay tuned for more details—including which authors are joining us šŸ¤«ā€”closer to the event. For now, make sure you mark your calendar and hopefully we’ll see you then!

Pittsburgh native Scott Robinson and other researchers have been trying to learn why the bottom is falling out on some bird species and what can be done.

ā€œThese are not all endangered species but birds that used to be common,ā€ said Robinson, 70, of Gainesville, Fla., the Katharine Ordway professor of ecosystem conservation at the Florida Museum of Natural History.

ā€œWe are just beginning the studies on what we need to do,ā€ Robinson said when he spoke about his recent research and all things birds during a Three Rivers Birding Club presentation on April 8, at Beechwood Farms in Fox Chapel.

I’m starting to run out of ways to say thank you. 🄹

Last year’s Indie Bookstore Day was admittedly a high-water mark: it was our grand reopening in our current location, plus the weather was great and we didn’t have a major sporting event going on…

While we didn’t beat last year’s numbers, we still came pretty dang close. Like extremely close. Most of all, I’m relieved that months of planning, scheming, and nail-biting paid off for us.

The same can not be said of some other shops closer to the chaos in North Shore, like , so if you have any mad money left this month, consider lending them your support soon.

It’s much easier to post about your business’s good days than it is to post about the bad ones. Pay attention to who’s saying they need help right now, and show them some love if you can.
