committed local businesses and residents, living and working together for sustainable downtown growth. THE POMFRET GROUP was formed in 2006, with four initial members, consisting of neighboring businesses and property owners in the first block of West Pomfret Street, in historic downtown Carlisl

e, Pa. The neighborhood is a commercial/residential mix of 2nd & 3rd floor residential apartment rentals, with ground floor offices, restaurants, and retail specialty shopping, all within the boundaries of the C-1 Historic District. As business & residential neighbors, it made aesthetic and financial sense to combine our efforts, so we would be working together towards the same goals, rather than struggling independently as island entrepreneurs. Developing innovative ideas through hard-working, hands-on partnerships, The Pomfret Group has built the first block of West Pomfret Street into a neighborhood model supporting filled storefronts & offices, and a waiting list of residents desiring to live on our downtown block. These positive results are no accident. They are living proof of dedicated community teamwork.
