The owners and staff members of Sanibel Arms West would like to thank each and every one of you for your heartfelt messages, texts, and emails. While we have not been able to respond to all of them at this time, please know that they were received, and we all felt the Sanibel Love! โค๏ธ
Our staff consisting of Steve, Kenny, Otmane, Chris, Austin and Leslie are all safe and accounted for. They all survived the storm relatively unscathed, but the lack of power, water and basic services was overwhelming!
Itโs been exactly three weeks today since Hurricane Ian blew through and changed our lives forever. We do have good news to report that the Sanibel Causeway has reopened today with some restrictions. Please refer to the City of Sanibel website for information regarding re-entry.
We can not express enough gratitude and thanks to all that have been working 24/7 to make this a reality. ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐
We are thankful to share that our buildings are still standing! Many of our units do have considerable damage and it will be quite some time before we can welcome guests. However, we are already putting our recovery plan in place.
We are all trying to process the level of destruction that hit not only Sanibel but all of Southwest Florida. The loss of life, property, belongings, businesses and your memories of our little slice of paradise is heartbreaking. ๐
We thank you for your patience and grace as we navigate this incredibly heartbreaking time. Our staff is working with limited services and remotely. Please be patient as we work through our reservations chronologically as we issue cancellations and refunds. We have already cancelled and refunded all reservations up till March of 2023.
It is easy to focus on the loss, but we are now focused on the future. Please share on our page any memories of your time with us so we can all remember how great Sanibel Arms West is while we continue to focus on our rebuilding projects throughout the year.
Sanibel Arms West will be back, and we will be better than ever! We are a resilient, strong community and have strong leadership on property as well as with the City of Sanibel and the State of Florida. We are !

Our hearts are with the happy retirees down on Fort Myers Beach that were always just the right amount of tipsy, with the big and small hotels and resorts that we have helped keep clean for the 100s of 1000s of vacationers they house each year on Sanibel, all the way out to our customers and neighbors on Pine Island that keep us proud to be a part of SWFL! They came today...right on time. They did an absolutely outstanding job. My dining area was filthy. I had not had commercial steam extraction cleaning done in my home in about 10 years. The last company was STANLEY Steamer and they did a VERY poor job. This company.. Is CAPTAIN Steamer. (Don't mix them up).
Getting back to my FILTHY dining room just off my kitchen and right off the high traffic slider glass back door. The CAPTAIN Steamer technician worked on that room for over a half hour... cleaning it over, and over, and over... (six (6) times)! Until it was completely clean and I could see the very light grey color again! (it was BLACK in spots). Thankfully the rest of the house was not quite as bad. Although, It wasn't totally clean ether. Its Very light grey, almost white, It came out like new. And its a twenty year old carpet.
Out in my drive way as the men rolled up there hose. I told them how very happy I was with their service versus the other "Steamer" company that had stole part of there name. Them like a idiot I wrote their check out in the other company's name!! I had to void that one and write another... Good thing the technician caught my error before driving back to his office.
Call "CAPTAIN" Steamer. A rare company actually that does what they advertise they will do. Their technicians are company employees not hired independent contractors like most carpet companies hire. CAPTAIN Steamer employees really care about pleasing their clients.

I have been using Captain Steamer for years. I've never had a reason to try another company. My cleaning is reasonably priced, never have a "wet" carpet and with the spray tools my carpet is once again clean & looking good.
