Sister Ki of Junk Bonanza and Flea Market Style fame came to visit and we decided it was time to do some repairs and updates to her well loved/well worn vintage signature Army Jacket of twelve years. After Mending all the small tears, we added vintage scout pages for color and fun that now suits her personality to a T.

My volunteer work with Bay Area Greyhounds has led to some fun sewing projects for the adoptable Greyhounds. With 6 Greyhounds waiting for their forever homes this holiday season, Foster dog mom Kelli and myself decided to add some holiday cheer at our Meet N Greet the Greyhounds Booth. Kelli supplied the antlers and I sewed up festive holiday donation vests for the Greyhounds to wear. Click on the pictures to learn more.

Just back from the Junk Bonanza in Portland where I found some fabulous vintage fabrics for sale. With the holiday gift giving season coming up I needed some inspiration to get back to the sewing machine. A suitcase full of purchased vintage fabrics has done the trick. My sewing skills for dogs has been put to the test by volunteering at Bay Area Greyhound Adoptions here in Cape Coral, FL. Collars, fleece dog coats, adoption day vests are some of the things I have sewn for the Greyhounds to wear at dog adoption days. My latest sewing project was not for the Greyhounds though,but for me to wear at the local Meet N Greets. I needed pockets to hold all the "dog stuff" one needs at these events along with the groups name and telephone number easily visible to the shoppers. Taking a ready made bib apron, adding a big pocket on the front along with one of the groups T-Shirts I accomplished my task.

Remixed Stitches sewed up these very pretty martingale collars to sell at the Greyhound Meet N Greets. All proceeds of the sale of these collars goes to Bay Area Greyhound Adoptions to help with getting the dogs ready for adoption (updating shots, teeth cleaning, vet exam and spaying or neutering to name a few of the needs.

My volunteer work with the Bay Area Greyhound Adoptions of Cape Coral Ft Myers is in full swing with sewing projects for the dogs. Martingale collars and leashes to sell and Greys to model at the Meet N Greet with all the proceeds going to the adoption group. For the dogs on cold mornings at the Meet N Greets, I've made some slip on fleece coats along with warm donation vests for them to wear.

I'm done sewing the bib aprons for the Junk Bonanza! Yeah!! I think they all turned out pretty darn cute and all are on...

I'm done sewing the bib aprons for the Junk Bonanza! Yeah!! I think they all turned out pretty darn cute and all are one of a kind. Just finishing up with the shopping cart liners this week. Decided to change the cart liners up a bit from what I have been doing. Another week and everything will be shipped off to Minnesota and the shipping area can then revert back to a guest bedroom....

The Junk Bonanza is just a few weeks away and I'm sewing like crazy to have some fun things to sell there. Colorful bright pink and green Bib aprons are what's happening now in the sewing room. I love them! Big vintage quilt pocket with lots of colors and designs. Tucked underneath that large pocket is two tucking stripe pockets, one for your cell and the other for your business cards. These aprons and more can be found in the Ki Nassauer Shop at the Junk Bonanza the last weekend in September.

Busy sewing for the upcoming fall Junk Bonanza that will take place towards the end of September. You'll find my purses, aprons and shopping cart liners in The Ki Nassauer shop just inside the doors to the main building. Airplane ticket purchase and I'm looking forward to a fun trip filled with cool junk and fun people. Here's a sneak peek of some of the things I've been sewing up. My fav so far is the repurposed 50's boy scout pack.....
