🎣 Blind Pass Fishing Report 🎣

Made it back out to Blind Pass on the incoming tide, and the fishing was definitely improving. The pass still isn't completely open, but it's a whole lot better than it was a month ago. The water is flowing strong again, and that moving water has the fish fired up.

I was able to land several snook in the 20–25 inch range, while my buddy Tyrone put the hurt on them with a solid 38-inch snook! 💪

Things seem to be heading in the right direction as more water continues to move through the pass. If the flow keeps improving, the bigger fish should only get more consistent.

Tight lines and good luck out there! 🎣

Hooked up at Blind Pass Bridge and had to hand-line this one all the way up! 🎣💪

The pass is finally starting to flow again, and the snook are taking notice. Nothing beats hearing that drag scream under the bridge.

Would you trust your knot on this lift? 😅

Thought I hooked a mangrove snapper... turns out I just gave him an unexpected body piercing. 🤦‍♂️🎣

Thought I finally hooked into a giant tarpon… then realized I was attached to an absolute monster stingray instead 😭🎣

The tarpon were rolling all around me and my heart was racing when the line came tight. After a long fight and a whole lot of false hope, up comes a giant ray 😂

Definitely not what I was targeting, but still one heck of a battle.

Who else has been fooled by a stingray before? 👇

Fishing Report Caloosahatchee River & Sanibel Area

Made a run around the river and Sanibel looking for tarpon this week. Water temps were sitting in the mid-80s and the fish were definitely around. Tarpon were rolling everywhere around the boat, but getting them to commit was a whole different story. Plenty of activity, just not a lot of bites.

The excitement of the trip came when I hooked into what I thought was finally a giant tarpon… only to realize after a long fight it was an absolute monster stingray. It pulled hard, stayed deep, and had the drag screaming. Definitely exciting in the moment, but a bit of a letdown once we saw what it was.

Even without the tarpon bite turning on, it still felt like we’re right on the edge of things heating up. If the conditions stay right, it shouldn’t be long before those rolling fish start chewing.

Did a little tackle testing under the Matlacha Bridge today 🎣🔥

I put live shrimp on two different setups. Jig head on the bottom Popping cork with a 4-foot leader

The bottom setup was basically a mangrove snapper magnet 😂🐟
Every time it hit bottom… THUMP.

Meanwhile the popping cork got absolutely smoked by Jack Crevalle that had me questioning my life choices for a minute 💀

But then… the bottom rod doubled over

Big runs. Heavy head shakes. Definitely NOT a snapper. I tried turning it before it wrapped me up…
…and it broke me off like I owed it money 😭🎣

Now I’m sitting here wondering if I just lost the fish of the week.

Which setup are y’all picking under a bridge?

Went out today to test a new Yo-Zuri color and somehow it turned into the giant ladyfish show. 😂🎣

Trolling was pretty slow overall with not a ton of action, but this absolute tank of a ladyfish came out of nowhere and smashed the lure. Honestly, he fought harder than most fish people actually target. 🤣🔥

Still testing this color, but so far the ladyfish are definitely fans. 👀

Would you count this as a successful test or not? 😂

Thought this was gonna be a quick little cast… then the water absolutely EXPLODED. 😳🎣

Nothing beats that split second when the line tightens and chaos starts. Florida fishing never gets old.

Would YOU have landed this one? 👀

Trying out the Purple Demon Mulletron tonight to see what all the hype is about. 👀🔥

No fish report yet just putting it in the water and giving it a fair test. The action looks good so far, now we’ll see if the snook agree. 😂

Anybody else thrown this color yet? What worked for you?

Spent hundreds on rods, reels, tackle, and gear… just to get out-fished by a koozie with fishing line attached to it. 😂🎣

Our fishing club did a Chill & Reel challenge and I honestly thought it was gonna be a joke… until I started actually catching fish on it. Multiple fish. 🤦‍♂️🐟

At this point I’m about one bad trip away from selling all my gear and becoming a professional koozie fisherman.

Florida fish really have zero standards. 🌴
