The Reishi forage goes on! Had to wait for a break in the rain and was it worth the patience, it was a perfectly peaceful morning in the forest today and the Reishi was plentiful…..spring is a time of tough forages, first the search for morels, then ramp picking and now the Reishi, climbing trees, crossing rivers, carrying a load on your back and then the work of processing, drying and grinding….these Reishi all matured perfectly, the caps covered in red and the spore dust caked on top, couldnt be any more medicinal and wild foraged!

Reishi- Ganoderma tsugae- the hemlock Reishi…renowned for its wealth of health….helping to detox your liver and kidney, boost the immune system, bring calming to the nervous system, and help take on the fight against cancer, truly the mushroom of immortality…all hail the queen 👸 All the tinctures and teas we make include these exact Reishi….are the mushrooms you use wild foraged?

What a blessing I give thanks for literally everyday to live in such beautiful, lush, abundant place in these mountains……and so the hunt goes on……

Lately I’ve been patiently watching and waiting as the Reishi mushrooms grow….its been interesting observing, some Reishi take several weeks to mature and others even up to a month or longer….theres many factors such as conditions of the trees, rainfall, beating the bugs, in the case of the Reishi it’s the ‘love beetle’ I call them (pictured in the carousel)

Heres my psa….its very important to let the Reishi grow to maturity (when the caps are red), this ensures they have dropped their spores and have a better chance to reproduce, letting them grow also allows them to reach their medicinal peak….its good foraging practice to cut them at the stem and not rip them off the tree, which leaves its stem still in the tree….lettem grow!

Reishi is such a special mushroom, revered for its countless health benefits, even reserved for royalty in many Asain historical scripts. Dubbed the mushroom of immortality, need I say more….
The queen is back and how sweet it is…..

As spring spreads out all along the mountain valleys and peaks, it welcomes in a time of new possibilities and renewal. With that thought in mind, we took our time to formulate and hand craft seven new, nourishing tea blends!

Each blend is designed with a functional purpose in mind. Combining wild, medicinal mushrooms, we foraged ourselves, with thoughtfully selected herbs, each working synergistically to make well rounded goodness in every cup…..

Ramps, Allium tricoccum, are a true Appalachian delicacy! Emerging in late March and only growing for three to four weeks in the spring, before disappearing again until the next year. It’s short growing window and it’s sometimes hard to get to growing habitats make it rare treat, don’t forget you can’t find ramps everywhere, they only grow in eastern north America! Each plant has between one to three leaves. The stems have a reddish hue and underground is an onion like bulb. This leafy green was a staple for the Cherokee and later the pioneer people long ago. These days Ramps can be found at local specialty markets and farmers markets. Anyone who knows their share about these spring greens, knows they are one to be respected and cared for. Gathering only leaves and picking from different clusters is key to their survival and ensures they return the following year. Some foragers dig up whole plants, bulbs and roots and all and this is unsustainable and feels like a lack of care. We only pick what we need each year, picking only leaves and only picking in crowded patches.

Wild Ramp Sea Salt
Each year we create a ramp sea salt blend and it’s back! We go heavy on the ramps for maximum flavor. Ramps add an extra punch of garlic flavor to any dish, especially on fish, eggs, potatoes, burgers, chicken, you name it! Get it while it lasts……..find it on our website, link in bio….

🍄‍🟫🌿✨Introducing Women’s Lunar Cycle 💜 — a new blend from Blue Ridge Chaga Connection, created from personal experience and with clear intention to support the natural shifts that come with monthly cycles and perimenopause.

At the heart of this formula are our wild‑foraged Appalachian mushrooms 🍄‍🟫, the core of everything we make. We paired them with herbs 🌿🌸 traditionally used to support cyclical bodies, choosing each one with purpose and care 🫶🏻.

Many people notice changes in mood, energy, sensitivity, and overall steadiness throughout the month. We designed this tincture as a steady companion for those times — not to fix or correct, but to offer gentle support when you feel more inward, tender, or in need of grounding ☮️.

A dropperful in water or tea can become a simple monthly ritual that helps you stay connected to your body’s natural rhythm.

Crafted in small batches, blended slowly and intentionally, and rooted in the herbal traditions that have supported women for generations.

“And I said to my body, softly: I want to be your friend.” — Nayyirah Waheed

Women’s Lunar Cycle is now available on our website, at our local tailgate markets, and in the shops that carry our products.

Introducing Blue Ridge Chaga Connection Herbal Bitters. The gut has a way of speaking up when life gets busy — a heaviness after meals, a knot when stress hits, that sense of “off” you can’t quite name.
Plants have supported people through those moments for generations, and they still meet our modern needs with the same steady wisdom. Healthy digestion is the quiet foundation that supports nearly every other system in the body — when it’s working well, everything else has a chance to thrive.

These bitters were crafted with that in mind.

🌱 Daily Digestive
For everyday rhythms — the meals you grab between tasks, the mornings you want to feel warmed and ready, the evenings when your belly needs a little extra support.
Perfect before any and every meal, it’s a reliable, foundational blend that helps wake up digestive fire and keep things moving with ease.

🌿 De‑Stress & Digest
For the days when your digestion feels every bit of tension you’re carrying.
When your stomach tightens before your shoulders do, when emotions land low in the body, when you need a moment of grounding before (or after) a long day.
A calming blend for stress‑sensitive digestion and the gut–nervous system connection so many of us feel.

Many people — myself included — reach for both blends throughout the day, depending on what the body is asking for. They complement each other beautifully taken before or after meals.

Both blends are made in small batches with intention, tradition, and deep respect for the plants — crafted here in the Blue Ridge, but made for the universal, everyday realities of modern life.

If your body has been asking for warmth, ease, or a little grounding, these blends are here to support you.

Find both bitters at
