These Vintage Mid Century Modern, Brass Candlesticks were likely made in the late 1970's. They were still in their original wrappings when they were discovered and so could be considered new, old stock. Box and wrappings needed to be discarded, as they had deteriorated beyond salvaging. However the candlesticks are in great condition with very little tarnish. There is a small label on the bottom that reads "Made in India."

There are seven in the set. The tallest is approximately 9 inches in height and the smallest is about 3 inches. They have a tulip bottom approximately 3 inches in diameter.

These will make a beautiful addition to your Altar, Sacred Space, or any home decor. They are sparkly and Ravens love things that Sparkle! I'm sure you will love them too. For a Vintage item, they are in great shape!

These were crafted by myself from natural river smoothed stones that were gathered in a beautiful stream in upstate New York. The set includes the Elder Futhark Runes which were constructed under a time sacred to Odin.

Herbal Uses:
Elderflower is known for being anti-inflammatory and combats sinusitis and bronchitis and inflammation caused by seasonal allergies. This tincture was made from and picked elderflowers as they first break into bloom. Goes well with Mullein tincture which supports the lungs.

Magick and Lore: The Elder is ruled by the planet Venus. Elder is POWERFUL and can be used both to summon and protect and banish. It is a good component of any healing or blessing undertaking. The Elderberry plant has a reputation of being a bridge between the physical and spiritual realms, especially with the Fae.

Purple Dead Nettle is an extremely common plant that was sometimes used as a regular potherb because of its vitamin content. Although it is called “dead nettle,” it is not a proper nettle which would be ruled by Mars. Lamium purpureum is a member of the mint family, and therefore ruled by Venus. Perhaps because of the belief of Venus’s influence on the body and its elemental association with water, it was employed to control the waters of the body, be it urine, runny noses, or sores. Here are some reported benefits of Lamium purpureum:
• Anti-inflammatory: Helps address issues accompanied by chronic inflammation
• Antioxidant: Fights free radicals in the body which improves immune system functioning to fight off infections.
• Anti-bacterial & Anti-fungal: Interferes with the growth and reproduction of bacteria and fungus in the body.

I just harvested some gorgeous fresh lavender this morning! Its scent made me feel peaceful and energized all at once. Did you know that lavender buds can be used in baking? I once had some lavender sugar cookies and they were really good. The buds/flowers can also be made into a syrup used to flavor lemonade and ice tea. Some of this crop will definitely be added to my Fairy Flower Tea Blend.

The rest? Who knows? Tincture (great for anxiety & sleep), incense, bath salts, sachets...

Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) is a versatile sacred herb that needs to be included in every practitioner’s toolbox. This herb is associated with the Goddess Artemis and therefore associated with the moon and lunar workings. It is ruled by Venus.
This Mugwort was cut under its ruling sign on the day of the Moon and dried quickly to preserve its potency. It is stored in air-tight glass and was purposely not finely ground/ cut. Preserving it in this way helps to keep it fresh and retain its properties.
Mugwort can be used as a tea for its medicinal effects: digestive aid, treat menopausal symptoms, calm nerves and of course to stimulate dreaming, and increase dream vibrancy and recall.
Mugwort can be added by the home brewer to flavor various ales as this was historically a main use of Mugwort and where it likely got its name from.
Dried Mugwort can be burnt as an incense and its smoke used to clear spaces, consecrate, or dedicate tools, or to help with deep meditation, scrying or communing with ancestors. It can also be used as an offering or kindling for sacred fires.
Mugwort has been added to smoking mixtures or smoked alone for its calming effect and ability to aid the practitioner in dreamwork, psychic workings or shamanic journeying.

Catnip, what a fun herb! Associated with Venus and the element of water catnip attracts all good energies. Catnip has been used in magick to attract friendship, love and contentment (with people as well as our feline friends)! So, feel free to add this quality tincture to any workings associated with these goals. Catnip is also sacred to Bastet (The Egyptian Cat Goddess of Love, Beauty and Protection of home, women and children from evil spirits) and so is appropriate for offerings if this is your inclination.

Catnip is known for its calming affect on both the body and mind and has historically been used for these purposes.

This particular crop of Catnip was STRONG. I don’t think my cats were sober for over a week when I was processing it. It filled my house with its heady aroma. The herb was gathered under correct correspondences for added potency. This dried her can be used for tea, feline treats and training, added to a smoking mixture or burnt as an incense.
