Tell us about your sewing machine. Does it have magic powers…solve mysteries…take you on exciting adventures?

I started sewing on a Singer, then a Kenmore. But I got my magical machine in 1982…a Bernina Record 830. I went to work in the evenings at a Stretch n’ Sew shop that sold Berninas…and fell in love!! With two young daughters to sew for, my Bernina and I had some amazing adventures…garments, costumes, home decor and more. My 830 is still going strong and I’ve since acquired two more for my grandsons to sew on.

Lara Langston grew up sewing on her Nana's Featherweight. And while she sews, Lara's skills as a mystery solver seem to be the strongest. Almost magical...

Lara will be using Nana's Featherweight for the Surf's Up mystery quilt.
