After a

long career in Software Engineering and Project Management, I started a journey as a new vintage reseller at a small vintage boutique shop, that took over the Clouds Folsom Porcelain pottery studio/building (remember that huge red barn style building? Right before the Rainbow Bridge?), after Clouds retired in 2017. I started dabbling in reselling Clouds Folsom pottery, because people kept coming in to the shop (from everywhere!), looking for their beloved Clouds pottery - and they were devastated to learn that Clouds Folsom was permanently retired. Well, that worked pretty well! So, I started up Clouds Pottery Replacement Boutique (as an add-on to my vintage business). I connected with Mary Cargile (former Clouds Master Potter for 40 years), who helped me learn (and continues to help me learn!) about Clouds Folsom pottery (and pottery in general). I expanded to other local vintage shops/malls. I upsized, rightsized, leftsized, downsized, and that brings us to today. I've recently decided to liquidate the vintage side of my business, and focus on pottery (re)selling. Clouds Folsom Pottery, Mary Cargile Pottery (Mary has developed her own art pottery line, and it is stunning! Wowza!), and sometimes other studio art pottery, or student pottery, that catches my eye. I'm in the process of creating & expanding my on-line selling presence. If you're local to Sacramento (CA), you can do local pickup by appointment, or I ship (I've been told my packing/shipping will survive a nuclear explosion). Most of my Clouds inventory today comes from people looking to find a new home for their pottery collection - where it will be appreciated and loved (vs donating it) - and that's what I do. Mary's pottery comes (new) directly from her personal art studio. If you are looking for a special piece (or pieces), and I don't have it, I do my best to find it for you at estate sales, garage sales, thrift stores, on-line, other vintage dealers, and anywhere else I can "hunt". Sometimes this means connecting you directly with another seller. Where ever you are, I will try my best to help you find (or sell) your treasured Clouds Folsom pottery.

I’m now at Midtown Bliss on R St., Sacramento. I’m a sucker for Miniatures even though peach isn’t my favorite pattern, so that’s coming home with me, and of course, the Poppy pie plate which is already sold. The Poppy pattern was created later in the career of Clouds Folsom Pottery. Because it’s contemporary, it’s the California Poppy, and inventory is far more limited than the other patterns, it’s almost impossible to find. People are just being downright stingy with it. The Gladiola pattern I think is a firing failure. The glazed bubbled, but the interesting thing is that it makes it look 3-D unfortunately it had a hairline crack, so I wasn’t willing to pay $38 for it. But it’s here at Bliss if you want it. The rest of the pieces I also did not purchase, but you can find them here at Bliss should you decide you want them. I have to go babysit my grandson, but I might have time to hit up Bliss Rancho Cordova on the way home. We’ll see.

I’ve moved on to the Picket Fence, which is a couple doors down from Blue Moon, across from the 57th St. mall. The cottage house is $45 as is, it has a chip on his chimney. I’m not taking any of these with me so if you’re interested in them, you’ll need to go to the Picket Fence Antiques.

So I’ve moved on to the Blue Moon which is a small vintage shop right across from 57th St. Mall. The piece on the left is just the top to a cheese dome. It’s the country French pattern. ANNOUNCEMENT: I am so excited to announce that I am now a vendor at the newly opened Gather & Toast restaurant in Old Historic Folsom!!! I am selling both Clouds and Cargile Pottery at this location.
Gather & Toast, located at 200 Wool Street, is owned and operated by local wine vintners Jonathan & Katie (of Gwinllan Estate Winery in Somerset). They have partnered with the Folsom Visitors Center, the farmers market, and Catherine’s Creperie, offering champagne tasting & crepes. They have a variety of vendors offering local made art & crafts.
I had an opportunity to try Catherines Signature Crepe (Ham & Gouda cheese) last week, and it was to die for!!!
So come on down and check it out! What could be better than an amazing crepe, champagne and Clouds & Cargile Pottery!
