Where have I been? It’s been a rough few weeks y’all. Gene had shoulder surgery and I am his nurse. I should be fired. I decided to take up native plant identification and contracted through worst case of chiggers I’ve ever had in my life. I’m working on some new things for fall and Sea Salt Soap is on sale this month. I get the best sunsets from my back porch! More product photos coming soon..

I love Sea Salt Soap! Most people look better in the summer. Fresh air and Vitamin D are part of it but I always looked better after a beach day. All of that natural salt and minerals really gave me a glow. Whenever my kids faces broke out, I took them to the beach to clear it up. The salt makes a harder bar and it gently exfoliates the grody stuff away.

Soap cutting satisfaction. I love soap cutting day! I’m restocking Driftwood Beer Soap, Beach Citrus Triple Butter Soap, and finalizing Sea Hag.

Sea Hag is my facial care line debuting in September featuring Cambrian Blue clay. I have a facial bar, skin cream, facial oil, and toner. I’m digging the toner and don’t normally use one. You can drive through my pores, I have sun spots on my cheeks, and some middle age texture issues that I’m trying to fix. My test subjects are loving it so far.

All will be online in a few weeks after a proper cure.

I go through different phases but I’m stuck on beer soap right now. It’s a good all-around soap with great pore cleaning abilities. It also makes my skin so soft! This must be Jack’s favorite too, because he used the better part of a batch before we launched and didn’t tell me. I use Corona Light for now but I’m looking to connect with a local brewery.

I might just keep this one. I have more colors to add to the store. I haven’t disappeared, I’m just desperately in need a root canal so the drumbeat in my molar will go away. I’m using my downtime to sew masks from my kids old surf T-shirts.

Who made bad decisions over the weekend? 🙋🏻‍♀️ Mine involved a strawberry pie and posting on my neighborhood HOA page about fireworks. Being outside in the sun feels so good! Being almost 50 and looking in the mirror at a lifetime of bad skin care decisions (among others I’m sure).. doesn’t give me that happy, school’s out and I’m too young and insecure to appreciate how my thighs look feeling. Our Aloe Skin Cream is for penetrating tired, abused, and sun damaged skin so you don’t feel like a Sea Hag. The consistency is a smidge softer than our regular Everyday Skin Cream but is still whipped and light. I created a concoction of shea, mango and cacao butters with pure Aloe Vera and non comedogenic oils. It plumps up that top layer, of skin for an instant refresher while absorbing into the deeper layers. Like with all of my oil and cream recipes, a little bit goes a long way y’all, no need to hose yourself down because you think it will work better. Last thing, food and humor unify people. It’s hard to fight when you’re eating and laughing....Unless you’re at the dinner table at my Nanny’s house. When anyone ever shows up with a date, you are either very, very, serious or you’re trying to get rid of them.

It’s amazing how something so small can cause so much damage. What about our words? Do you say things that are loving and encouraging or are you quick to inform others of what you think instead? Are you listening to people or waiting (or just interrupting) to respond with a pre-judged answer/opinion. Just because we have opinions, it doesn’t mean that people want to hear them, or that we are even right. Are you forcing your opinions on others instead of lovingly explaining your convictions? I forgot to lay the soap loaf on its side before I sliced it and dragged chamomile buds through it leaving deep rivets. This was a test batch with blue Cambrian clay to see if I can swirl. We can all see the answer to that.👎🏼Its not ruined, just bruised. Water will wash it away. My soap is more about the content and body benefits than being fancy. We really need to ask ourselves, do our actions and words leave rivets on other people? Just because someone else is being obnoxious, do we have to join in? We are living in a ‘me’ society full of instant gratification and online acquaintances vs. real meaningful relationships. Where are you at on your personal path? Are you causing rivets or melting them away like water will do to this bar of soap.
