201 Combat Shotgun course
Most people who own a shotgun for home defense have never actually trained with it the way they’ll need to use it under stress. They pattern it once at the range, shoot a few clay targets, and call it good. That’s target shooting — not fighting.
This 8-hour course is built specifically to fix that gap. You will learn:
• How different shotguns actually perform for defensive use (pros, cons, and limitations)
• What the real statistics and myths are about shotguns in defensive shootings
• How your specific ammunition patterns (and what that means for shot placement and over-penetration)
• Fundamentals under realistic conditions: stance, grip, sight alignment, trigger control
• Loading, unloading, malfunction clearing, and reloads under pressure
• Non-traditional shooting positions (the ones you’ll actually end up in during a fight inside a house)
• Live fire on both paper and steel so you get real feedback
It’s not a recreational class. It’s threat-protection training with a shotgun. Delaware Tactical’s approach is the same philosophy they use across their combat courses: teach you how to fight with the weapon, not just shoot it.
The cost of not taking it
The class is $275.
The cost of skipping it is higher:
• You keep a false sense of security about a gun you haven’t trained with under realistic conditions.
• You don’t know how your chosen ammo actually patterns out of your shotgun at home-defense distances.
• You haven’t practiced malfunction clearances or reloads when your heart rate is elevated.
• You haven’t trained non-traditional positions — the exact positions most home-defense shootings force people into.
• If the day ever comes that you need the shotgun, the first time you try to run it under stress will also be the first time you’ve ever tried to run it under stress.
That’s the real price. $275 buys you the knowledge and repetitions that most shotgun owners never get. The alternative is hoping “I’ll figure it out if it happens.”
