Are you excited for Boston Pride? We are, too! That’s why, after learning that our Reader Prom fundraiser was originally scheduled to take place on the same day as this year’s Pride, we decided to postpone. We want all of you (and us) to be able dance at Reader Prom *and* to celebrate Pride! Reader Prom will now take place on August 29 from 7:30-10PM. Tickets are available on our website at portersquarebooks.com. We hope to see you there—in the meantime, let’s gear up for Pride! 🫶

Porter Square Books’ 2026 Reader Prom is here! Tickets are for sale at the link in our bio!

Saturday, June 6th from 7:30 PM to 10 PM!

Dress up in your finest prom fashion. Bring a copy of your favorite book as your date to donate to the Y2Y Homeless Shelter in Harvard Square. (It’s the only prom where you’re supposed to dump your date at the door!)

There will be free snacks and soft drinks, a cash bar, music, dancing, and, of course, “chaperones.” You’ll also be able to get a formal prom picture with your “date” and a bookish corsage.

Celebrate Independent Bookstore Day with the Whole Family (even the beloved stuffed companions who’ve protected your children from monsters under the bed for decades). Commemorate these gallant guardians of the night (I salute you, Snowball) and have their portraits drawn by professional children’s book illustrators!

The portraits are ‘free’ with your generous donation to the Porter Square Books Foundation, a non-profit that invites authors to schools and makes sure every child leaves with a free signed copy of the book.
