UPDATE FROM PURSUIT ON OCTOBER 21, 2025
On October 21, 2025, just before 9 p.m. Churchill County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch broadcast that units from the Mineral County Sheriff’s Office and Walker River Tribal Police were in pursuit of an unregistered black Corvette. The pursuit was reported to be at extremely high rates of speed and would be entering Churchill County momentarily. Churchill County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to 95 South with the intent to deploy tire deflation devices (Stinger spikes) however due to information that the pursuing law enforcement agencies had lost visual on the vehicle, and it was unknown if the vehicle had slowed down or turned off and the difficulty of positively identifying a vehicle in the dark and confirm it was the suspect vehicle, the order was given to not deploy but to get into position to pursue if the vehicle was identified. The suspect vehicle passed their location at speeds estimated well over a hundred miles an hour before they could set up. The vehicle continued North on the Schurz Highway toward town where it is reported to have avoided an attempt to spike by the Fallon Police Department around Drumm Lane. The vehicle continued North into town traveling at speeds estimated in excess of 100 mph. Due to the speeds the vehicle was traveling, responding units lost visual on it before it entered town and went slack pursuit. The vehicle was observed crossing Williams on Taylor against the light, at speeds estimated at 130 mph by a Churchill County Sheriff’s Office Unit who was responding to the area on West Williams. The vehicle was lost from visual contact after it crossed Williams and continued North on North Taylor however thanks to the help of a concerned citizen who saw the vehicle turn down Colorado Lane toward Venturacci Lane we located the vehicle parked in the dirt near Venturacci and Coleman. The driver had fled on foot in an unknown direction. Members of the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office, Fallon Police Department, Nevada Highway Patrol, Mineral County Sheriff’s Office and Walker River Tribal Police searched the area but did not locate the driver of the vehicle, we did however find another male who tried to hide from searching units and he was found to have outstanding warrants he was arrested and booked.
Information obtained from Mineral County and from within the car identifies the driver as 19-year-old Joshua James Olsen. He is reported to be approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, and approximately 180 pounds, shaved head and brown eyes, with some brown facial hair along the jaw line and a small mustache. He was last seen wearing all black clothing. Mr. Olsen is the suspect in numerous cases around the nation and has outstanding warrants from several states. It is unknown if he is armed at this time. We ask that if anyone observes him to please not confront him, please notify the Sheriff’s Office or the Fallon Police Department immediately. If you hear or see something that concerns you, please call and we will come to check it for you.
