I love seeing what is underneath decades of gunk on the pans I restore. I picked up this old 3 notch lodge at an estate sale last week. It had so much carbon build up on it that you could barely tell there was a heat ring. After getting it cleaned up it revealed some very cool markings on the back. The E is double stamped and there also appears to be ghost marked letters. This occurs when the sand the pan was cast in wasn't completely smooted out before casting. This was the 1st ghost marked pan I have come across.

I was gifted 2 Wagner pans from a kind soul who was unsure how to care for them and didn't want to ruin them. I'm excited to start restoring this one today.

Don't let cast iron intimidate you! It's very easy to care for and lasts a lifetime. It's almost impossible to destroy unless it is cracked or broken.

If your pans look like this, are rusty, or have a century of build up on them I can help you! I use electrolysis to strip pans to bare iron and then season them and get them looking as good as the day they were cast.
