The Hello Spring sign was the 1st wood project made on the laser. The Easter basket I designed, and cut out, myself. It’s a big bigger than I was anticipating but I like how it turned out. We filled the booth at Burlap and Lace in Waukesha. Since May is Mental Health Awareness month, I have bookmarks for $1 each. All proceeds will go to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Milwaukee chapter. We also have free mental health stickers. Stop by and grab yourself a reminder that you are not alone and you matter.

There are plenty of other goodies there as well. Located in the hall on your way to the restroom.

I think we all have things we are nerdy about (books, computers, wine). Me? I’m nerdy about wood. I love the way the grain pops out on wood after it’s been stained or sealed. These book marks are made with different exotic hardwoods. From left to right yellowheart, canarywood, bloodwood and bubinga. 1st picture shows them plain, already beautiful. 2nd picture has 1 coat of poly, 3rd picture is after the 2nd coat of poly. The 4th picture is an up close picture of the canary wood. One of my absolute favorite exotic woods. Stunning. Pictures really don’t do these woods any justice.
