Facebook, Instagram, and Threads have been so useful to be in contact with our community during this time. Though when the crisis facing Los Angeles subsides, we will be removing all three platforms from our devices, as Meta joins other business and tech “giants” in a scramble to curry favor with the incoming administration, by disbanding independent fact-checking. They are removing guardrails and granting new freedom to post an array of derogatory remarks about races, nationalities, ethnic groups, sexual orientations, and gender identities.
Meta also plans to end a number of internal programs designed to increase the company’s hiring of diverse candidates, in a dramatic rush to bend the knee.
Facts, civil rights, and inclusion are key pillars for us. We don’t plan to stick around on platforms that are scrambling to become the cesspool that is now X.
We will no longer post on any of the Meta platforms. We’ll be on BlueSky only going forward: .bsky.social
Perhaps we'll see some of you there.
