The RED Booth #91

I am Leta Irene Smith Fletcher... BUT everyone calls me Letabug! A nickname my Grandfather, called me since I was little. Thus, the signature on all of my artwork and on my credit card purchases... haha!

I am a Graphic Designer by education... LSU... GEAUX TIGERS!!! But when your Veterinarian husband brings you home to the small town of Bunkie, LA to practice with his dad... what do you do with yourself? YOU TEACH!!!! So, after becoming a full-time sub for Adaptive PE my first year... an ART teacher took a sabbatical and I got her job the second year... fast forward 33 years... I taught in Avoyelles Parish for 33 years!!! Hard to even think that is possible, but it is TRUE!!! I taught at schools that don’t even exist now, all 6 Elementary’s in the early 90’s, Marksville High for 7 years, Bunkie High for 10 years, Avoyelles High for 9 years and then back to Bunkie High to do my last 3 years. Along with teaching ART, I coached pep squad, cheer and dance, sponsored Beta for over 24 years and directed Prom for most of the years I was at a high school. I LOVE teaching... I LOVE kids... BUT it was time to move on.

I have always been a super busy person... sewing, crafting, painting, making things, and decorating everything. As a retired teacher I am still busy with a million things... sometimes I think I am busier than when I taught. haha! I have designed t-shirts for print for years and try to do this as often as possible, working with a local printer. I am also Greek Licensed to make Sorority items. I love to help decorate for just about anything... but weddings seem to be what people ask for my help with. I think my brain works overtime, and I hate if I am not ripping and roaring. Thus, I am usually exhausted from some project that I have going on and I have a hard time saying “NO” to anyone. haha!

I am married to the “love of my life”, John Fletcher and we will be married 37 years on May 22... together 41 years in September. We were blessed after 7 years of marriage with a beautiful daughter Julie, and two years later a son Jack. They are the absolutely my heart. Julie got married to Jonathan May of 2018 and Jack get married March 2019 to Tori. My family is very important to me. My parents are elderly... my dad... we call Pop is 83 and mom... Meme is 77. The RED Booth is a great way for us to do something together as she is starting to have memory issues. Pop is a great help when I need to climb or hang something. I am grateful for my parents health at this time.
