A lot of new people are here lately, so I thought I’d introduce myself again!
I’m Justine. I live in the Buffalo, NY area now, but I spent years in Charleston, SC and still spend a lot of time there (we’ll be back there permanently one day)! I’ve always felt connected to places near the water, whether it’s the ocean, the Great Lakes, Finger Lakes, Oneida Lake, etc.
The name Second Shore comes from my love of both places...the lakes I grew up around and the ocean I lived beside for years.
I’ve been drawing and painting for basically my entire life. I took AP Art in high school, minored in studio art in college, and was absolutely the kid asking for Hawaii-themed calendars for Christmas because I wanted my room to feel like the beach in the middle of winter. I eventually did get to Hawaii! ha
A few other random things about me:
☕️ I love a lavender latte or coconut cold brew.
🌊 I have 10 tattoos and 6 of them are beach or water-themed.
🦮 I’m a huge dog fan.
🏄🏼♀️ I took surf lessons once and still wish I stuck with it.
🌸 My favorite flowers are hydrangeas.
🪿 I get full-body goosebumps when I sneeze and genuinely thought everyone did until my husband told me otherwise.
🏡 My husband and daughter are my whole world.
🦞 And I love coastal New England enough that I could absolutely see myself ending up there someday.
📍 My work has shipped to homes across the US, including SC, TN, FL, CA, MI, NY, and PA, which still feels surreal to me.
🖥️ Full-time, I am a brand marketer for a tech company, and while I love my art, I also love my FT job!
