You're invited to a Tea Rex Party at Merriweather! Join us on Tuesday, June 30 for our extROARdinary kick off to summer reading! From 6:15-6:45 we'll have a read aloud, a tea (rex) party, and maybe a special guest. That'll be followed by some DINO-mite games and crafts in the children's section until 7:30.

Please register ahead of time to help us plan for space and snacks! We won't turn anyone away from games and crafts, but party seats, treats, and goody bags will go to registered patrons first. Most activities will be best for ages 5-10, but all ages are welcome with a grown up!

Working collectively is the only way forward, and we’re thankful for every opportunity we get to work with Tesha and Mama Parker from Truly Rooted Community Market.

Saturday they are launching Masten’s Rooted in the Park Farmers Market, which will broaden food access for our community on the East Side.

We’re excited to be the featured small business this weekend! Bring your books and blankets and join us for some outdoor reading. We’ll also be hosting story time for the littles! If you’d like to be a reader, please message us.

This movement is not just about food, but overall wellness. This Saturday you can also get free healthcare screenings and resources to support your physical needs.

Book club things! Yesterday we discussed Grown Women by Sarai Johnson. We love a complicated story about mothering, womanhood, relationships, and self-discovery.

On June 10th, Open Buffalo will be hosting Movement Morning, their largest fundraiser of the year.

OB’s mission is to advance racial, economic, and ecological justice. They do so through skill building, network connecting, and activating leadership opportunities. Their goal is for all communities in Western New York to thrive free from discrimination and poverty.

Come here about their amazing work, including the soil sampling study that was recently released and the ten-acre, yes TEN-ACRE, eco campus that will be coming to the East Side of Buffalo.

Stephanie is serving as a table captain this year, and there is still room at her table if you’re interested in joining!
