A MESSAGE FROM GRANNY & GRANDPA’S CUSTOM CREATIONS
First and foremost, THANK YOU. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who called, texted, messaged, and reached out last night and early this morning asking if we were okay. (We can’t believe how fast everyone found out). We’re sorry we haven’t been able to respond to everyone individually. Right now, we felt this was the best way to let everyone know what happened.
Grandpa and Pam are both safe and okay, and at the end of the day, that is what matters most. Unfortunately, the storms took everything from us… again.
All of the product and inventory we had with us is a total loss. Right now, we are devastated, overwhelmed, and honestly just numb as we try to process what happened and figure out where we go from here.
After everything our little business has already been navigating with the construction (since April and still going on) and the challenges that have come along with it, this is another blow we simply weren't prepared for. We still have one more event on our schedule — the Kansas State Fair — and right now we don't know what that looks like or how we rebuild enough inventory to make it happen.
Over the next few weeks, Granny and Grandpa will be doing a lot of thinking, praying, talking, and figuring out what the next chapter looks like for Granny and Grandpa’s Custom Creations. How do we rebound from losing everything? Where do we start? What comes next? Those are questions we simply don't have answers to today…. Especially with so many emotions (and no sleep).
But what we DO know is that everyone is safe. No amount of merchandise, inventory, equipment, or money is more important than that, and we are incredibly grateful nobody was hurt. To every single person who has reached out with concern for our staff— thank you. That means more to us than we could possibly put into words.
We built Granny and Grandpa’s Custom Creations from the ground up with a lot of hard work, long days, late nights, determination, and the support of some pretty incredible customers and communities. Right now, we're trying to wrap our heads around the fact that so much of that disappeared in one storm.
We wanted everyone who has been worried about us to know that we are safe and sound and we are not ignoring you. We're hurting, we're overwhelmed, and we have some very difficult decisions ahead of us — but we're here. Please give us a little time and grace while we work through everything and determine our next steps.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for every call, every text, every message, every prayer, and every person who has checked on us.
Tonight, we may have lost our product, but we are counting our blessings that nobody was hurt!
With love and gratitude,
Granny & Grandpa
