Saw I had one turret and one eyelet 5E3 board, so figured I'd slowly build another Tweed Deluxe or two. This one is well-appointed with Jupiter coupling and filter caps. I like them because I have A/B'd them with several others - Ajax, Brown, Mallory, etc. - and they do have a certain musicality to them.

The fall and rise of my first ever amp. Resurrected from my first, and unintentionally destructive, efforts in modifying an amplifier.
It only took over a decade to finally have the competency and opportunity.
This was a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, now it's an ODS (Overdrive Special) circuit.

The oft maligned Hot Rod Deluxe...so prone to issues...
Horrible PCBs in these things that are freakishly delicate. Thankfully some creative fellows decided to make a drop-in ODS board. This promises to be fun!

An entirely (as far as initial assessments show) stock, heirloom ‘60 Gibson ES345 in for a checkup - eventually to be properly appraised and restored.

A richly resonant, gorgeously articulate example of why these guitars are legendary, legacy instruments. Just me and Freddie King’s ghost playing the blues.

One of the coolest projects I’ve ever had come in.

Little bro was visiting and brought a '68 Fender Blackline Dripedge Super Reverb - a particular rarity for Silverface transition Fenders in the late 60s. This one sounds amazing. Did some general maintenance and tuning up - mostly cleaning and tightening everything. All the fun "make it safe and reliable" work was already done so I just gave it a once over. Installed a shorting jack to allow for the trem to be used without a pedal. What a killer sounding amp!

This is the second amp I ever built. In some ways I'm quite proud of *some* of the work I did many years ago, while in other ways I'm completely mortified. It just came in for a little TLC from the friend I sold it to long ago. It's been working like a charm for quite a while but just blew a fuse so I'm giving it a tuneup. Mercury Magnetics transformers, Mergili cab, Celestion Speakers G10 Gold - NOS 5Y3GT, OS Hammond labeled 12AX7...undecided on the 6V6 yet.

The finished and housed '67 AB763 Deluxe Reverb! Turned out just incredible - quiet, huge sounding, lush verb and gorgeous trem. Really quite thrilled with how it all turned out.
