Wheelspinner Fibers Spinning fibers and yarns I specialize in Shetland wool plus other fibers for spinning. I have dyes and patterns. Hours of operation are, if I'm home, I'm open.

I offer my handspun yarns and I also spend time handdying commercial yarns. I also carry Bryspun and Knit Picks knitting needles and accessories. Please call first!

Our guild had our annual dye day and this year we ice dyed. I was fairly busy and with our two special guests, Marie and Keri from our local yarn store, Dot's Yarn Den ,I didn't have a screen and pan left to use. So... I tossed my yarns into the bottom of other people's pans, I didn't care what colors they came out with. And I love them!!!!
The ones at the top are cotton, about the size of Sugar and Cream yarn. The 2 lower left are 75% rayon 25% flax and the rest are tencel.

I should have photos of what the other folks dyed after we have our next guild metting.

Just letting folks attending Black Sheep Gathering know, I had to cancel having a booth this year after having a spinal injury not too long ago.

Dr. told me xrays of next and upper spine show a real mess. Chalk it up to age and active lifestyle, sports, working in the woods, bucking horses and wrangling sheep, llamas and alpacas. I'm hoping PT will stabilize everything.

I will be vending locally a few times this summer, having plenty of help. So, hope to see you next summer!

Here is a photo of the table runner I made for our guild project. It is a dark green cotton warp and a tencel or rayon weft.
My idea was this was snow on the forest trees. If you turn the photo upside down, you can see the snow covered fir trees.

I have neglected to post photos of what I've been doing lately.
I've been mostly weaving and am busy weaving on our guild project "Something for the Table", for an exchange during our December luncheon. Yeah, nothing like the last minute, we decided this a year ago. Won't post a pic til after the exchange.🤫
So photos are of various scarves and the yarn I'm working on, is a ply of Shetland wool and a ply of stubby acrylic.

Back at the Port after a month off. Not as many folks over from the valley this weekend. First smokey day here in a long while but less than in the valley, so we've heard. Not as hot here as forecasted and we hope the wind doesn't pick up.

We had a good vendor turn out, 18 this week and just after I took this video we had many more people show up. It was a great day! Turn up the sound, the band was great, they were just warming up when I shot this.

Minor rant. Some idiot with 2 dogs let one p*e on my table cloth as she watched. I did jump up a bit too late to catch him before he started hosing my table.. When I said she should watch her dogs, she took offense and called me the b*tch. I told her I'd rather be a b*tch than and lousey dog owner. I heard minute or two later her 2 dogs attacked another dog... Hope she never shows up again.

I forgot to post pics of our guild's dye day. We tried the mud dyes on silk scarves. Since the colors are pretty muted...

I forgot to post pics of our guild's dye day. We tried the mud dyes on silk scarves. Since the colors are pretty muted, I plan on having a scarf embellish day with stamping and fine fabric pen doodles.
