Cinderella's stepmother may be the quintessential "Bad Mom." She is certianly Top 3. Or is she? We get her side of the story in this fantastic debut novel by Rachel Hochhauser. LADY TREMAINE takes you by the hand and drags you running into the fantasy world of royalty, enchanting forests, castles, and manors where you will question just what constitutes a bad mom. It is more of an unveiling than a retelling and we are here for it. Not to mention that goregous cover looks great on a shelf.

May is about Moms! Heather shares her review of a "Good Mom" in PACHINKO by Min Jin Lee. This book is a sweeping multigenerational epic tale of struggles and love and family. It centers around Sunja, a South Korean immigrant to Japan and is told in three timelines over the course of her life. There aren't words adequate to descirbe the impact this book has on the reader and it will leave you thinking of Sunja and her family long after you read the last page.

Matt Haig, we have been waiting for this one! Set in The Midnight Library universe, THE MIDNIGHT TRAIN is sure to be a new favorite. If you could choose your past in The Midnight Library, The Midnight Train lets you relive it. Go back to those best moments. Would you pass on by the hard ones? Fix mistakes? This book will force you to really think about what makes a life. It's romance and fantasy and magic realism and we can't wait!

In THE LEMON TWIST, it's the 1980s in Northern California and Sam Sailor has just lost her memory, her figure skating career, and her coach/boyfriend. She then receives an old postcard from her missing sister postmarked from 3 years earlier with one word on it: HELP. This one is getting great early reviews.

Finally, we have BIRDS OF A FEATHER by Kate Stewart. This is Book #3 in the Ravenhood Legacy seires. This one is a dark romance and will have you wrapped up in all 720 pages and not turning loose.

Join us this coming Saturday for a book signing by local author Sarah M Willis as she shares her new book, LIES I'VE LIVED. Sarah is a Brookhaven resident and a teacher at Parklane Academy in McComb. Her book is described as an exploration of the "cultural stories we are often given about identity, success, and purpose, and contrasts them with the deeper, lasting hope found in the Gospel. It is written to be thoughtful and relatable, especially for students, young adults, and anyone wrestling with questions about meaning and identity."
