peace y’all, for the next program in our Deconstructed series we will have the pleasure of heading to the world renowned to get a look inside the mind of Matt Hennessy, the head engineer and owner of VSOP Studios.

Matt has worked with countless artists such as Beyoncé, Jamila Woods, DMX, G Herbo, Twista and so many more.

we want to make sure that this opportunity is extended to individuals who might not typically have access to these conversations and spaces, so there will be a quick application process consisting of a handful of questions on our website.

thank you to .us for bringing this idea to life through design and conceptualization sessions. fun fact, we got a call from people in the midst of working on this design and that led to some of the Finally Rich ten-year anniversary documentary shot at the art center during our exhibition with Leaders. we love them full circle moments, right?

hello friendsss, we’re excited to announce the return of our open house series. during the pandemic, we held a few workshops aimed towards offering insight and hands-on experience into various creative fields. we were able to host live zoom sessions where folks were able to experience Ableton and Serato demos as well as taking a dive into film and digital photography editing and process.

a big part of what it means to be an art center is creating space for members of our community to access information that isn’t conventionally found through institutions and/or the internet. we figured there wouldn’t be a better way to kick this off than to start with one of the staples businesses and platforms in Chicago music w/ .
