Hi Stitchers,

I have posted our May Newsletter - Here is the link:
https://www.yeoldecs.com/MAY2026NEWSLETTER.cfm

As stated in our newsletter , The Gentle Art has announced that several of their thread colors will be discontinued. Currently we still have stock available in-store and will remove from our site as they sell out If you’re currently working on or planning a project that uses Sampler Floss, check to make sure if any of these colors are used. If so, you might want to make a purchase for the colors needed before they run out. The arrows give you their suggested substitute for the discontinued color. We have counters on our site that will count down as the flosses are sold.

✨ Discontinued Colours & Suggested Alternatives:
Kiwi → Spring Grass
Mint Jubilee → Sea Spray
Bluebell → Slate
Summer Meadow → Willow
Pineapple Sherbet → Peach Ice Cream
Cotton Candy → Porcelain
Lavender Potpourri → French Lilac
Jasmine → Punch Berry
Dragonfly → Moss
Verdigras → Woodtrail
Creekbed → Garden Gate
Rag Doll → Parchment
Autumn → Brandy
Summer Shower → Old Blue Paint

With America's 250th Birthday fast approaching, many designers are introducing patriotic designs. I am showcasing a new release from Glendon Place called Freedom 250 (GLEN310) that you can find under our What's New Tab

Lastly - Happy Mother's Day to all mom's out there. Take time for yourself and enjoy your day.

It seems I have not posted since our last newsletter, yet I am posting twice today.

Did you hear of the "PUT DOWN THE PHONE" Movement?
This is something that Needlepoint Shops are promoting to get customers to start stitching needlepoint so they stay off their phones.

So how about our craft joining as Counted Cross Stitch is a lot cheaper than purchasing needlepoint supplies, and also is a craft that takes concentration.

Start by picking up a piece of your needlework and stay off the phone. I know many of you use a computer as well as phone for your chart - how about printing the patterns on paper, and staying off the phone or computer.

As you age, your eyes will appreciate it as well. Also, unless
you can multi-task, your concentration to one thing will eliminate ripping out or loosing your place. This is a common issue when not paying attention to what your are stitching as it is easy to go off track when constantly glancing at the computer to someone showing off their finished work or even showing new products. There is a time for everything - pick and choose what is more important - watching videos, going into chats, or social media or sitting and stitching and finishing your project without
distractions. Just don't try to stitch and listen if your get distracted. Limit your social media time.

Same goes for fabric and patterns choices. You might be persuaded to see something you love and was told the person stitched it on 40 Ct, but it might not be a fabric that you can see easily or even at all. Stitch on what you can see. It doesn't matter if it ends up a little bigger. Now adays there are so many hand-dyed fabrics, and these are more costly than regular Zweigart and Wichelt fabric - same goes for all the flosses used in patterns. Some pattern use cotton floss, others silk, and multi brands for one pattern. Our craft is European based - meaning all flosses, and fabric as well as most kits are now made overseas. With the tariffs that were not considered legal, as well as postage, prices increased with each shipment arriving in our country. Don't think now no tariffs will drop prices - think again.
Guaranteed that will never happen.

So stitch on what you can see, use what you can afford, and put down the phone and enjoy the project you picked. You will be surprised how much faster you will complete your project when not stressed and not distracted. Try it, you might like it.

Also, If you are lonely and want stitching friends, always try your local library as many now are offering a craft night, once a week. Some Panera Bread shops have stitching groups that meet once a month as well. You can always check these out with a few phone calls.

Hi Stitchers,

Almost all the of the available The Primitive Hare patterns and kits have been added to our site under the designer tab. I never realized she had over 135 patterns and some are kits. We will continue to offer them as long as our distributor keeps these overseas patterns and kits. For those who like these patterns, you might want to take a look and see all of the additions - patterns range from halloween to historic people, as well as animals, and purses - here is a link for easy access:

I am sharing one of her patterns called Cross Stitch Collector (PRIH065). I still have about 15 more to add and hope to have everything on by the end of this week. This is a nice sign for those of you who have a craft room.

Also, on the business front - Ruth Sparrow of Twisted Threads, Ewe & Eye & Friends, and Holiday Sparrow has retired. Her patterns were always great and sold well in our shop. She was one of the partners for The Trilogy patterns as well which disbanded over a year ago. We have put counters on all of her patterns that will count down as they are sold. We are sorry see Ruth retire as she has been a friend for years. We wish her good luck in any future endeavor.

Hi Stitchers,

I have just posted New Releases under our What's New Tab. Some maybe wondering why I added the Notforgotten patterns - well they are new to us even though they might have been out for a while. Since everyone is working patriotic patterns, I am sharing a new release from Just Another Buttons Co called "Let Freedom Ring"(JAB10828) with the Liberty Bell front and center.

For those Lakeside Linen lovers - Keep a watch on our site - we have a shipment arriving next week - any unclaimed colors and counts will be available for purchase.

Until Next time - Happy Stitchin'

Hi Stitchers,

Now that our Nashville Market is over and most restocks have arrived, we are packed with tons of new releases. It has been a very busy time as well with new flosses arriving as well as new fabric colors. Everyone might want to take a look at our What's New section to see all of the latest releases as well as check under our What's New in Kits to see the new kit releases from Bothy Threads. In the coming weeks, I will be posting new Shop Models that are now on display in our shop. As I write this today, our temperature is in the 90's, very unseasonal for PA this time of year. The cold weather has also caused many delays this winter with receiving packages with some getting lost. I am also not sure if it was a USPS issue due to help shortages.

Since tariffs were added as well as higher postage charges, it seems some of our overseas designers are not shipping timely to the US - Yarmins Make with Love is one of those designers whose patterns have not arrived since December, and I am not sure if they ever will come back into stock. Our stock is limited now to what is shown on our site, and any pattern out of stock has been removed at this time.

Again - I want everyone to understand that Kreinik is very behind in making flosses - months and months. They ordered a new machine, but restocks are still taking longer and longer to get flosses back into stock once we sell our. Just remember, the basic flosses come from Europe, they them combine in their company making the types and colors everyone uses. All shops are experiencing the same issues with Kreinik - everyone's patience is appreciated.

Same goes for Mill Hill having issues with beads, perforated paper which will be make of PCV in all colors in the future, and buttons. We send what we have as Mill Hill ships us back orders every few days. It my take awhile to get the kits you want, but it is worth the wait. All of their kits look great when stitched, I just wish all of the delays were behind use. Unfortunately, they are not - so we send what we can, and then send back orders as they arrive. We always stocked all Button & Bead, small seasonal kits, as well as many specialty Mill Hill kits and hope these issues will be a thing of the past in the coming months, but only time will tell. Again, we appreciate everyone's patience with this issue

In closing I want to share a New Release for those of you who want to stitch something for the 250th Birthday of the US - the attached pattern is called America Semi Quincentennial from Imaginating and Pamela Kellog - It is under our What's New tab.
