If you love beach music, mark your calendar now for Sounds on Sixth, a lively block party featuring The Catalinas. Known for their energy on stage, these band members have been a fixture in the Carolina beach music scene for six decades. The original members began playing together as high school students in 1957 and, in the years since, more than 60 musicians have passed through the group’s ranks. The band plays all styles to a high standard of excellence but is best known for the mega hit "Summertime's Callin' Me.”
It all happens this Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Sixth Street parking lot in Bristol, Tennessee. Admission is $2 and proceeds benefit Believe in Bristol. Stay tuned for information about upcoming shows in the Sounds on Sixth concert series.
