Bridgewater Farm Supply, headquartered in Bridgewater, MA, is a third-generation family business which operates both wholesale and retail in farm, landscaping materials and pet supply. The roots of the business go back to 1947 when Joe Shimkus founded the business. Today Bridgewater Farm Supply processes mulches and compost at its yard and delivers landscape

materials in all quantities. Its large fleet of trucks delivers farm materials such as feed hay, straw, wood shavings, sawdust and other horse beddings throughout the Northeast U.S. to horse farms, dairies and veterinary colleges. Locally, stables and farms pick up at our store in Bridgewater or get deliveries from smaller trucks. Our store in Bridgewater is interesting just to walk through. It has an amazing amount of things to look at across the categories of farm, lawn and garden, wildlife and pets. There's also a quite a few things that fall outside those categories. Our staff has been at this for a while and can answer your questions (or once in a long while will look it up in some of the references we sell). Yes, we get caught short-handed sometimes, but there's always an expert not too far away.

Looking for a fun and meaningful activity for your child this summer? Join us for Paws & Pages — a special program where children can read aloud to the shelter animals! ❤️

🗓 Held on the 2nd Sunday of every month at 11:30am
Upcoming dates:

For the animals 🐶🐱
Reading provides our shelter pets with calm, comforting one-on-one attention in a quiet environment. It can help shy or nervous animals build confidence and social skills, giving them a better chance at finding forever homes.

For the children 📖✨
Animals don’t judge reading ability, which helps young readers feel relaxed and confident while practicing aloud. This program encourages literacy, builds confidence, and teaches empathy and compassion for animals.

👧 Ages 6–17
💚 $10 donation to participate

Please note:
• A minimum of 5 sign-ups is required for the event to run. If the minimum is not met, the event will be canceled and donations will be refunded.
• No-shows are non-refundable.
