Anyone that wants to get in on this tournament this evening all you have to do is show up at Rust launch between 2:30 and 3:30 to register. Must have a livewell big enough to keep large catfish alive. It’s a catch and release tournament, dead fish is a DQ. Any other questions get ahold of Michigan Catfish Anglers Trail (MCATS)

Out here pre-fishing for the Saginaw River catfish tournament tomorrow. Can’t fish more than 2 rods with all these channel cats keeping us busy. Still waiting on that big flathead to show up.

I have a bunch of suckers and chubs for anyone fishing the MCATS this weekend. Most are 5-6” range but have a lot of 8-10 inchers too. Open 6am-4pm Friday and Saturday.

Anyone getting in on this for the first time? I’m going to give it a shot. Anyone who regularly fishes the Saginaw River knows where to get into some decent catfish. Local catfish diehard Joey Knapp is adding $200 to the bank teams payout and another $100 to the boat teams payout.

This will be my first summer open. Since we rely heavily on the Saginaw River bite, I already know things probably won’t be nearly as busy as November-April around here.

For the next couple months I probably won’t be carrying emerald shiners. I may still have fatheads here and there, but I’ll definitely be stocked up on crawlers and the usual tackle.

I appreciate everyone that’s stopped in, shared posts, grabbed bait/tackle, or even just talked fishing with me these last few months. We’ll keep adapting and figuring it out as we go
